Ida har en Ph.D fra SOAS, University of London I udviklingspolitik og institutionel reform. Title: “Decentralisation and Power Structures. The role of local power structures in decentralised development and institution building in Bolivia”, og en masters grad fra SOAS i development studies. Konsulent på flere udviklingprojekter og programmer. 2000 -2004 udviklingsrådgiver for Uncía Kommune, Bolivia, og fra juni 2010 inden for social- økonomisk- og landbrugsudvikling.

Ida er vejleder for ph.d. studerende i Madrid og Mexico og har været udviklingskonsulent på forskellige projekter i Bolivia og været lektor i Communitary Law ved Universidad Andina, Bolivia, på Masters programmet i Forfatningslov.

Har stort internationalt netværk med ngo’er og forskere, i Latinamerika, Storbritannien, Tyskland og Spanien.

Forskningsinteresser: development theory, power structures and their reproduction, development policy and socioeconomic development, the politics of development, Latin American politics with special focus on the Andean region, governance in Latin America, institutional reform, decentralisation and the state, local governance and the state, indigenous people’s rights with special focus on human rights, and customary law.

Nuværende forskningsprojekt: Power, Representation and Citizenship in the Andes. Indigenous Organisation, political institution and customary law in Bolivia, Finansieret af FSE.
