The Law Department of the Copenhagen Business School is pleased to announce the lecture "Choice-of-Court Agreements: The Global Judgments Convention – Background and Perspectives" by Professor Trevor Hartley, London School of Economics and Political Science.

An Expert on EU law and international business law
Trevor C Hartley is Professor of Law Emeritus at the London School of Economics (specializing in private international law and European Community law). He has been a visiting professor at the Law Schools of the University of Michigan, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Texas and the University of Florida; he is a former professor at the College of Europe, Bruges, where he taught Community law.

He has been elected to the American Law Institute. He is one of the two British members of the Groupe européen de droit international privé (European Group for Private International Law), an organization that brings together experts on private international law from all the major European countries. He has acted as a consultant for the Commission of the European Communities and the Ministry of Justice (England). He was a member of the United Kingdom delegation at the Hague Conference on Private International Law for the Choice of Court Convention and was Co-Reporter for the Convention. He is a member of the committee that advises the British Government on private international law.

He has written seven books on legal topics. He has published articles in journals in England, the United States, Canada, South Africa, Japan and Belgium; he has contributed to books published in England, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Canada and the United States; and has given papers at international conferences in England, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the United States, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Spain.
