The American Engagement in Iraq: Past, Present and Future
Guest lecture at the Center for the Study of the Americas by Richard Bell (Embassy of the United States in Copenhagen)
Richard Bell is Counselor for Political & Economic Affairs and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy to Denmark. He has been a career diplomat for nearly 19 years and has an extensive background in the Arab world. Since 2005 he has spent nearly two years in Iraq as regional coordinator and Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader.
In his talk, Richard Bell will provide his insights on developments in Iraq and U.S. policy towards the country, and take questions. The meeting will take place under the Chatham House Rule, which means that “participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker may be revealed.”
