For 13 years (1986 -1999) Anders Moberg has lived and worked in Denmark as president and CEO at IKEA. During these years he guided IKEA through an eighth-fold growth in sales. For three years (2000-2002) he was based in Atlanta, United States, as a Division President International at The Home Depot, the worlds largest home improvement retailer.

Before joining Majid Al Futtaim, Anders Moberg served as CEO and president for Amsterdam-based Royal Ahold, an international group of quality supermarkets in the United States and Europe.

As of July 1st he took up the position as CEO of the privately owned Majid Al Futtaim Group - one of the fast growing companies in the Middle East. The group has changed the face of shopping, entertainment and leisure in the Middle East and North Africa. With around 13,000 employees, comprising over 44 nationalities, the Group is one of the most significant employers in the region. It's activities include ”The Mall of the Emirates”, the largest shopping mall outside the United States, the spectacular ”Ski Dubai” for indoor downhill skiing, ”The Wave”, a real estate project in Oman with a golf course, hotels and retailers.

Anders Moberg, 57, is a native of Sweden. Since 1974 he has lived and worked internationally. He has had a distinguished career in retail, having worked with both privately owned and publicly listed companies on three continents. Anders Moberg is a member of the supervisory board of DFDS, Velux and Husqvarna and chairman of Clas Ohlson.
