The main scope of the DREAMS project is to develop new advanced mobile services and test them in a set of experiments, ranging from small to large scale. In particular, we will develop and test the use of primarily content services through different mobile communication platforms in order to identify emerging trajectories that will enable businesses to commercially exploit advanced mobile services and create new revenue streams.
Moreover, the project aims to investigate the opportunities to integrate existing content, available online, to address single mobile users’ needs (i.e. through localization, personalization, and ubiquity) and propose successful business exploitation of their application (e.g. through public-private partnerships). The design of multi modal user interfaces for effective communication through mobile devices will also be an integrated part of the project.
This project is carried out in the realm of Crossroads Copenhagen. Ørestad Nord is a perfect test bed for testing advanced mobile services because of its unique character. 20.000 people will work, study or live in this new part of Copenhagen. Much national and international attention can be expected due to Ørestad Nord's exceptional composition of dedicated m-services companies, committed researchers, the size of the test bed, and its unusual location.
