After completing my PhD at the Centre for the Sociology of Innovation at Ecole des Mines in Paris, I joined the IOA department at Copenhagen Business School in February 2010. I am pursuing three main lines of research. First, I examine entrepreneurship as a distributed and emergent process which is driven by partnerships that enact opportunities. Second, I investigate the role that valuation devices, such as models, demonstrations and formulae, play in the initiation and coordination of explorative partnerships. Third, building on survey data collected as part of the European project PICO, we study how academic spin-offs may foster the innovative performance of the firms with which they partner. In my post-doc project, I further develop my exploration of entrepreneurship as a process that is distributed across heterogeneous actors and equipped with specific valuation devices, through a case study of the clean-tech corporate venture unit set up by a leading Danish manufacturer.

Primære forskningsområder

  • Entrepreneurship and academic spin-offs
  • Open innovation, inter-firm partnerships, exploration and exploitation in alliances
  • Valuation devices: models, demonstrations, formulae
  • Pragmatism and performativity
