Invitation to research seminar with Emerita Professor Joanne Martin

Joanne Martin, Emerita Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, will hold a seminar Friday, 27 May from 2 pm – 3.30  pm in K 1.46 (Kilen 1st  floor) entitled:
Limiting the Success of Planned Change Interventions

Planned change interventions are often deliberately or unintentionally undermined by organizational members. I will examine how this has happened in a wide variety of interventions with similar goals, including planned changes in structure, policy goals, organizational practices, deep cultural assumptions, and informal norms. These cases come from a variety of relatively large, for-profit and public sector organizations. National settings include the U.S., Australia, the UK, The Netherlands, and the Flemish community in Belgium.
Using data from discourse analyses and cultural ethnographies, I will explore links to newer forms of institutional theory, Czarniawska's and Sevon's ideas about translating organizational change, and more dynamic approaches to studies of culture.

Introduction by Professor Majken Schultz

The seminar will be followed by a reception
