CBS PUBLIC research seminar

Professor Paul du Gay, IOA, CBS
“Stay Frosty: on the ethics and politics of bureaucratic detachment”
In his talk Professor du Gay will explore certain reforms of the public administration as an institution of government in the UK, and elsewhere, and examine their consequences for the relationship between ‘person’ and ‘office’ in the practice of governmental administration. In particular, attention will be focused on the changing ethical template that programmes of ‘responsive’ or ‘entrepreneurial’ managerial reform require of civil servants
Kirstine Zinck Pedersen, Phd, IOA, CBS
“Patient safety and risk in Danish healthcare”
Kirstine Zinck Pedersen studies the assumptions and effects of patient safety policy and technology in Danish healthcare. In the presentation she will argue how safety technologies installed to ensure safe treatment and reduce errors are equally likely to reorganize and change work, responsibilities and roles with new kinds of risk as a result.
