Training PhD students is a major commitment for the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics (INO). The department is educating own PhD students, is frequently hosting visiting PhD students from other universities, and is regularly offering PhD courses to interested PhD students from CBS and other universities in Denmark and abroad.
PhD students at the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics (INO) are typically enrolled in the CBS
PhD School in Economics and Management
and follow the rules of this program. Early 2011 INO hosted
15 PhD students
of which 7 form a
cohort
that enrolled on October 1, 2010. These students are financed by external funding, most notably a generous
grant
from the Ministry of Science supporting 5 PhD students. The students were hired after an open call and come from all over the world.
The students follow a structured PhD program with a preset selection of courses. These include five regular courses and two workshops. The mandatory courses are:

INO is co-organizing the annual
DRUID Winter conference
which offers a unique opportunity for PhD students to present their work and get first-rate feedback. Additionally, the department participates in several international networks include
CCC - The US Consortium for Cooperation and Competition and
EDS-ETIC "The European Doctoral Programme on the Economics of Technology and Institutional Change".
