Serden Ozcan is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at CBS and a member of the CBS’s Center of Excellence on Open Innovation (CRUISE) and the Danish Research Unit in Industrial Dynamics (DRUID). His research agenda focuses on entrepreneurs and the process of entrepreneurship and the evolution (life course/ecological models) of individuals, products, organizations and organizational forms. His current work examines sectors such as Islamic and commercial banking, bioethanol and clean tech, TV shows, farm equipment manufacturing and biotechnology. He is the recipient of multiple international research awards and his publications may be found in leading academic journals such as Management Science and Strategic Organization and others. His research projects have been supported by amongst others Danish Social Science Research Council, CBS Center of Excellence Program and the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority (EBST). He has recently concluded a 3-year project that analyzed and built models of “innovation communities” at video-game start-ups in co-operation with leading video game developers in Scandinavia. He and his colleagues at CBS have also recently conducted (jointly with Statistics Denmark) one of the largest surveys of founders, spin-offs and start-ups in Denmark.
At CBS, he teaches MSc. and PhD. Courses  on entrepreneurship, and one of the most popular graduate electives, “Managing Outsourcing and Offshoring in the Age of Globalization and Innovation” . He teaches in Full Time and Executive MBA programs on strategy, corporate renewal and entrepreneurship in and outside Denmark. He has also designed and delivered several specialized trainings for corporations (e.g., “Corporate Venture Capital” at Turkcell, Istanbul, Turkey) and industry associations (e.g., “Biotech Business Models” at Estonia Biotech Association/Enterprise Estonia, Talinn, Estonia). He is a frequent speaker at industry events on issues concerning entrepreneurship and innovation.
 He has also envisioned and co-developed the CBS' web-based case forum (www.cbscaseforum.dk), which is widely used as a teaching tool.
