Since 2005, INO has hosted the international innovation journal Industry and Innovation, with Mark Lorenzen as editor-in-chief and Keld Laursen and Henrik Sornn-Friese as associate editors. The editor-in-chief has successfully applied to Thomson Reuters for inclusion into the highly selective SSCI. This citation index covers the most prestigious high impact research journals in the world, forming the foundation for quality evaluation of publications ¾ e.g. in the Norwegian and Danish university systems.

Since INO took over Industry and Innovation, the journal has expanded its editorial board to include many of the best top scholars within its field, doubled its international community of expert reviewers, and increased its annual publication rate by 50%. With the inclusion in the SSCI, Industry and Innovation now takes another step towards becoming a key journal within its field.
