Mette Morsing forsker og underviser i organisationers interne og eksterne kommunikation i relation til CSR. Især interesserer hun sig for emner som identitet, corporate branding, integreret kommunikation, transparens, stakeholder relations, etik og ledelse. Mette Morsing deltager i en række internationale og nationale forskningsprojekter og fra 2009 til 2011 leder hun et 3-årigt forskningsprojekt om CSR og online kommunikation kaldet ”Responsible Business in the Blogosphere” bevilget af De Strategiske Forskningsråd under Forskningsministeriet. Siden 2002 har Mette Morsing ledet cbsCSR, som er CBSs forskningscenter indenfor CSR frem til i dag hvor en række seniorforskere, ph.d. studerende, internationale gæsteforskere og forskningsassistenter er tilknyttet centeret med en lang række internationale forskningsprojekter. På cbsCSR vejleder hun en gruppe af ph.d. studerende med interesse for CSR, etik og kommunikation. Mette Morsing har modtaget priser for sin CSR-forskning og hun inviteres ofte til at tale på internationale konferencer om CSR, ligesom hun er medlem af en række internationale og nationale kommitteer og bestyrelser med relation til CSR. For nylig blev hun inviteret af Økonomimnisteren til at deltage i Rådet for Samfundsansvar.
