My research focuses primarily on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda and how companies make this complex and ambiguous concept operable. Moreover, my research also focuses more broadly on how public and private organisations manage by measures. More specifically, I am interested in how internal (organisational capabilities) and external factors (perceived environmental uncertainty) shape the adoption and use of non-financial performance measurement systems. Last but not least, I have also been involved in a study on how public sector organizations adopt Lean. The main objective is to analyse how negotiation processes between the different constituencies affect the processes and outcomes of the Lean implementation. The results from the Lean study will be presented in a new book that will be published in 2009.
