The History

The CBP was founded mainly devoted to research but has also contributed to educational programs at bachelor, master, Ph.D. and executive level. From the beginning the core objectives were to produce new knowledge of the advanced capitalist economies in close relationship with the leading research communities worldwide and in dialogue with practioners (businesses, governmental institutions, and politicians) and other stakeholders. Prior to the establishment of the center profile and strategy was developed over a couple of years by Professor Ove K. Pedersen, CBS  in collaboration with mainly Professor John L. Campbell , Dartmouth College, USA and Professor John A. Hall , McGill University, Canada.
Founder of DBP Professor Ove K. Pedersen became the first director of the center from 2004 to 2007 assisted by Professor Lars Bo Kaspersen as deputy-director. Professor Lars Bo Kaspersen was appointed as director from 2008 – 2010, and became by 1st of January 2011 the first head of the Department of Business and Politics.
