Aim of the course
Today, a career after finishing the PhD may take many forms. While some PhDs pursue a career in Academia, others continue in public sector organizations locally, nationally or internationally, in private firms or consultancies, or in NGOs. Some move in and out of these worlds, while others set-up their own business. The key ambition of this panel discussion is to raise awareness about constraints and opportunities in these regards, and to inform about and discuss the particular paths a career after the PhD might take. Our two external panelists have taken up positions in the public and private sectors and will provide us with insights about their career development, while our three internal panelists will discuss some of the broader tendencies when it comes to the PhD job market and careers in the university sector. All participants are cordially invited to join the panelists and others for refreshments and networking after the event.
