PhD programme in technologies of managing
The doctoral school of technologies of managing focus on managerial technologies used to generate innovation organize production, collaborate with other companies, and manage the performance of activities. These technologies create an overview of, and help to assess, whether there is progress in innovation, production, collaboration and performance.
The programme is placed at the Department of Operations Management, which covers production management, distribution, product, and process development in general as well as information and communication in and about modern industrial and service enterprises. Our overall strategic research focus areas are inter-organisational relations and performance management – often called operations management.
National and international research cooperation
The PhD programme cooperates intensively with the EIASM research network (European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management). Many PhD. students attend the course in operations management methods and Professor Jan Mouritsen, Professor Christer Karlsson, associate professor Juliana Hsuan Mikkola and Professor John Christiansen are faculty on various courses in EIASM.
The programme also cooperates with NOFOMA (The Nordic Logistics Research Network) through participation in conferences and doctoral workshops and associate professor Britta Gammelgaard has chaired several courses on methods with NOFOMA. Jan Mouritsen heads the European accounting association doctoral colloquium that supervise 27 PhD students within and accounting and finance.
The department furthermore collaborates informally with GRU (Gøteborg Research Unit, Professor Steen Jönsson og Barbara Czarniawska), Stockholm School of Economics (Johnny Lind), London School of Economics (Peter Miller), and The George Washington University (Prabir K. Bagchi).
