PhD programme in Informatics
The PhD. programme in Informatics is anchored in CBS' strong research and teaching groups within informatics. The research groups are organized in two units INF and CAICT, which undertake research in the design, implementation, development and use of information and communication technologies in companies, social and political organizations, public and private institutions.
The program is physically placed at Centre for Applied ICT (CAICT) and Department of Informatics (INF) at CBS and have 15-20 students enrolled. INF and CAICT are combined one of the largest research and teaching environment on information systems in Europe. There is an extensive collaboration with business and public sector in areas as ERP systems, mobile services, e-government, system development, and human-computer interaction. About 2/3 of the PhD-students are external funded.
National and international research cooperation
IPS is part of the Danish Research School on Information Systems (DARSIS), supported by FIST (ministry of science, technology and innovation) funds as of January 1st 2008. DARSIS have about 45 students nationwide, taken part in course activities etc. Also, DARSIS organizes supervisor workshops and aim to enhance quality of the supervision undertaken. IPS is part of the Information Systems Research in Scandinavia (IRIS)’s Ph.D.-summer school and in the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) and Ph.D. Colloquium. Kim V. Andersen is head of the European EGOV doctoral colloquium that supervise 20-25 PhD students. Researchers at the two units are involved in various PhD -activities and supervision through international workshops and bilateral agreements.
