Morten Rossing: Performance Management - a longitudinal case study
My research aims to critically examine the practice of performance appraisal systems.
The empirical base is a case study in a large Scandinavian pharmaceutical company. Through a longitudinal qualitative study it is investigated how employees across workforces make sense of performance and performance appraisal events in the organisation. Further, it is examined how the institutionalisation of performance management in the organisation as well as in industry in general affects the perceptions and sensemaking processes at the manager and employee levels.
