Trine Pallesen: Framing Markets for Energy Technology - The Role of Economics in the Construction of Markets for Wind Power

In my project, I investigate the construction of markets for wind power in Denmark and France, respectively.
In this market making process, wind power is often treated as a ‘disabled’ economic good, e.g. costly and inefficient, and thus it is provided with prostheses. In the study, I follow the ongoing processes of economization and politicization around the unfolding of a set of prosthetic market devices. These market devices come in many shapes, such as territorial planning devices, governance systems or calculation formulas. Rather than seeing these devices as, a priori, connected to the economic realm or the political, the way they emerge and unfold, often in unexpected ways, are studied.
