Faculty
Andrew Kakabadse, Nada Kakabadse, Steen Vallentin, Mette Morsing and Kai Hockerts
Course Coordinator
Kai Hockerts
Prerequisite
Students must be currently enroled in a doctoral programme and must be formally enroled in this course.
Prerequisite/progression of the course
The course is aimed primarily at second or third year students, but it is also open for early stage PhD students. Extensive readings, presence for all hours of all days of the class, and active discussion participation are expected of all enroled students.
Professors Hockerts will assign some students with roles as discussion co-leaders or research presenters. All students are requested to submit a brief one page abstract of the thesis proposal as well as a draft for a paper that they consider submitting to a journal. The latter will be used in the feed-back session.
Aim of the course
In the world of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we see a move from what might be terminated operational CSR towards a more strategic vision of CSR, in which Social Innovation plays a key role. It is the intention of this PhD workshop to bring together doctoral students from different disciplinary backgrounds to help understand each others’ research approaches and to explore commonalities as well as differences in their work. The four day workshop will use topical lectures as well as feed-back on individual thesis projects in small groups. Furthermore, there will be sessions on research methodology and publication strategy.
