Conference: Co-branding Denmark?
Meet some of the world’s leading brand experts - Wally Olins and Simon Anholt among others - and learn more about how Denmark’s image influences the way Danish brands are perceived internationally. At the conference, the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs will illustrate how Danish authorities and companies are working strategically with co-branding, and a number of interesting branding cases will be presented.
The conference takes place on 30th October 2008 from 9:30-15:00 at BG Lecture Hall, CBS, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg.
Please note that apart from the international key note speakers, all other presentations are in Danish. The participation fee is 495 DKK.
Debate Meetings 2008/2009
In co-operation with CBS and the trade journal “Økonomistyring & Informatik” the Research Center for Business Development and Management (CVL) invites you to the three following debate meetings planned for 2008/2009:
First debate meeting:
Theme: The New Roles and Competencies of the Controller Function – From Technical Driven Management to User Driven Innovation

Theme: LEAN, Play, and Learning – About Making LEAN a Strategic Innovation Process

Theme: The Repressed Public Management in Light of the Practical Contributions of the “Quality Reform” (Kvalitetsreformen)

The debate meetings take place at “Kilen” (Ks.48), CBS, Kilevej 14 A/B, 2000 Frederiksberg. All three meetings are in Danish.
Instant Innovation Camp Fall 2008: Submit Your Real Life Business Case
CBS will repeat its former success by offering the elective course Instant Innovation Camp that provided excellent results for the participating companies TrygVesta, Novartis, SEAS-NVE, and SAS in spring 2008. Fifty Master’s students converted their theoretical knowledge into practical innovation creating six concrete sustainable solutions for the four participating companies.
During fall 2008, Instant Innovation Camp will once again provide companies with the opportunity of submitting real business cases and thereby the opportunity of getting usable solutions, insight in the newest theories on sustainable innovation, network with other companies and professors on CSR, and company profiling toward students.
Please note that the deadline for submitting business cases is 22nd October.
New Online Community for Expatriates with Roots on Top of Europe
The Nordic Baltic Expatriate Forum is an online community for life science and biomedicine researchers, students and professionals, e.g. business developers employed in the pharma industry, rooted in the Nordic-Baltic Region (the Top of Europe) and currently working or studying abroad.

Chance to Improve Your English Skills
CBS Center for Continuing Education is offering a course in English grammar and text production for employees who regularly have a need for increased linguistic precision.
The purpose of this course is to strengthen your grasp of the English grammar, so that you can feel more secure when speaking English. The course consists of four consecutive lessons.
International Conference on CSR, Business Responsibilities for Human Rights and International Law
The overall topic of this conference will be the possible directions of the future interrelationship between CSR, Business Responsibilities for Human Rights and regulatory approaches under and/or informed by International Law.
The conference is an opportunity for researchers and practitioners within law and business to get together and share views on the future directions, challenges and potentials of the voluntary or mandatory character of CSR and Business Responsibilities for Human Rights and International Law as a possible avenue for informing and regulating both.
The conference is organized by the Institute of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen in cooperation with the CBS Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility and Department of Law. Key note speakers will be Mads Øvlisen, member of the board of the UN Global Compact and former CEO of Novo Nordisk and Chris Sidoti, former Director, ISHR (International Service for Human Rights), Geneva and former Human Rights Commissioner of Australia.
The conference will start on 6th November at 8:30 and end on 7th November at 17:00.
Event on Gender Distribution of Top Executives in the Local Government Sector
When the amalgamation of municipalities in Denmark ended, five out of 98 chief executives of local authorities were women. It is the development of this area that will be discussed at this event.
Thrine Nørgaard, Head of Human Resources, Equal Rights and Integration in the City of Aarhus, Lars Lundgaard, Partner in Lundgaard Consultans and Charlotte Dehlie, Head of Human Resources in the City of Copenhagen, will be pinpointing the gender distribution among top executives in the Danish public sector.
The event will take place on Wednesday 22nd October from 17:00-19:30 in room Ks.54 at CBS, Kilevej 14 A/B, 2000 Frederiksberg.
The 2nd Annual Copenhagen Conference on Partnerships: Creating Innovative Solutions through Collaboration
The conference is a continuation of the partnership conference 2007 organized by Center for Strategic Management and Globalization and CBS International Centre for Business and Politics.
The theme of the conference is how to create innovative solutions through collaboration with particular focus on strategic alliances within the areas of Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals/Biotech and Green Technology.
The purpose of the conference is to bridge academic work (empirical research and theory) and real-life practices and experiences, allowing scholars to learn from practitioners and allowing practitioners to apply leading-edge research and theory to their day-to-day alliance operations.
The conference will be held on 17th-18th November from 9:00-18:00 at CBS, Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg.
