New Book: Foss

'Foss' is the story of an acknowledged Danish businessman, who worked for the cause he believed in with his heart and soul and the price he paid for his efforts.
On the labour market, he was the driving force behind the creation of the Industrial Council, the industry's mouthpiece. During World War I his skills as a negotiator were crucial so that Denmark, which at that point was crushed between German demands for supplies and British blockade threats, was not involved in the war. Stationed in the foreign ministries in London and Berlin, he intelligently and persistently presented the arguments ensuring the neutrality - and kept the wheels in motion. Keeping the wheels in motion was the life-motto of Alexander Foss' work. He quite early saw that Denmark's future was inextricably linked to industrial growth, and that was a vision that he sought to promote - as an engineer, an organisational man, a diplomat and a conservative Parliament Member.
