Business managers have to learn the right speech

On November 20, 2007 CBS, Dansk Erhverv, Jyllandsposten and the rhetorical consulting firm Rhetor hold a conference about rhetoric in the Danish business world. The pulse of the Danish top managers’ rhetorical competences will be measured and the award for Business Speaker of the Year 2007 will be given.
- The rhetorical tradition has something to teach us in terms of how to appear trustworthy, how to share understanding and engagement with the audience, how to grab and make the most of the verbal space and how to ensure that the message remains clear, also after the speech – all in all these are qualities that are increasingly important to the modern business manager, says Jonas Gabrielsen, CBS.

New book: Container Shipping and Economic Development

A Case Study of A.P. Moller – Maersk

The study focuses on A.P. Moller - Maersk's container business in South East Asian developing countries, in particular Vietnam. Building on an extensive empirical analysis of A.P. Moller - Maersk's container business in South East Asia, the book suggests that A.P. Moller - Maersk's container business may play an important role in the integration of global production processes, not only by moving goods from A to B and coordinating multiple modes of transport, but also by coordinating and integrating increasingly atomised production processes at a global scale. By analysing A.P. Moller - Maersk's activities in South East Asia, the book contributes to our understanding of the role of container shipping services in economic development processes.
