Participate in a New Danish partnership to promote Ethical Trading
The business community, the trade union and numerous different organisations are preparing the launch of a new joint organisation called “Danish Initiative for Ethical Trading”. The idea behind the initiative is to gather the strengths and help one another to ensure justifiable trade and production that respect human and employee rights and contribute to a sustainable development. The organisation will collect experiences and knowledge about sound business ethics in developing countries and in the new growing economies, and, thus, make it easier for Danish companies to ensure a responsible supply management when investing and doing business in the world’s poorest countries or emerging economies.
The initiative, which is housed at Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at CBS, will arrange an information meeting for interested companies and organisations on 13 December and 8 January from 13:00-15:00 at the CBS location Porcelænshaven 26. For further information about the initiative and the information meeting, please contact Hanne Gürtler at

Corporate Social Responsibility in Multinational Corporations – The RESPONSE Project.
RESPONSE is a three-year project investigating Corporate Social Responsibility in large multinational corporations. The project is financed by a grant from the EU, and CBS has participated with other leading business schools in Europe, e.g. INSEAD, Bocconi and Leon Kozminski Academy. CBS Professor Peter Neergaard has chaired the CBS team with Ph.D. Esben Rahbek Pedersen, associate professor Kai Hockerts and a number of research assistants.
The project has focused on the alignment between companies and their stakeholders, and on what Corporate Social Responsibility entails. More than 200 managers in 19 multinational companies and approximately the same number of stakeholders have been interviewed. In addition, a web-based survey has been conducted by CBS in eight of the participating companies. Two Danish companies have participated: Novozymes and Grundfos. The project is the largest of its kind and has produced breakthrough knowledge within the field of CSR.

CBS Press: Gendertelling in Organisations: Narratives from male-dominated environments
This book gathers the stories told by men and women about a particular event. With a play on words, sometimes used by feminists in the past, it could have been entitled His Story/Her Story, in order to convey from the outset a banal, but sometimes overlooked, fact: the contents of stories depend on the voice telling them, and the experience recounted in first person differs according to the gender of the narrator. The book is written by Silvia Gherardi & Barbara Poggio

CBS Press: Shadowing and Other Techniques for Doing Fieldwork in Modern Societies
The book offers an array of techniques to study people on the move. Its starting point is that the present time require different metaphors than the static "cultures", "organisations" or even "societies". It is time to start constructing a mobile ethnology, which is knowledge about people, objects and ideas that circulate globally. The present text offers suggestions concerning the ways that such a construction may take.
The book is written by Barbara Czarniawska, Professor of Management Studies at Gothenburg Research Institute, School of Business, Economics and Law at Göteborg University.
